30 Wild Days: day 1 – wet sage

I’ve signed up to take part in The Wildlife Trusts 30 Days Wild, so I’ve decided to link my posts with folklory stuff where possible!

Torrential rain stopped most wildness today, so I’m starting simply with wonderful sage flowers,  which strangely I’ve never seen before.

Traditionally sage was known for its healing properties,  everything from epilepsy to helping memory loss.

It’s was also associated with long life; it was said those who drank sage tea wouldn’t grow old.

There is even the old belief that eating sage every day in May will grant immortality…
Just missed out on testing that…
